Your biased media article of the day

Here's a headline from Wednesday's Christian Science Monitor.

Huh? Are they talking about the same Abu Bluff that we know? The one who refused to negotiate with Israel from December 2008 until September 2010, including for nine of the first ten months of an unprecedented 'settlement freeze,' and who is now threatening to walk out of the talks again? The same Abu Bluff who didn't even answer a far-too-generous offer from Ehud Olmert in 2008? He's 'so committed' to negotiations?

But wait: Look at what the first sentence of the article says:
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is now in political limbo after having staked his career on the questionable proposition that a viable Palestinian state can be achieved through negotiations with Israel.
Even assuming Abu Mazen has 'staked his political career' on the negotiations, is reporter Ben Lynfield trying to suggest that a 'viable Palestinian state' ought to be achieved in a way other than negotiations? Didn't Arafat try that and get 1,000 Israelis and several thousand 'Palestinians' killed? Is that not enough for Lynfield and the Monitor?
