Would the 'Palestinians' be foolish enough to start another war? Listen to them. Abbas will hold a meeting with Palestinian leaders on Saturday to discuss alternative options, Shtayyeh said. Shtayyeh said another option was to increase the financial cost to Israel of occupying Palestinian land. Israel was obstructing peace talks because continuing the occupation served Israeli economic interests, he said.
"We import 86 percent of our imports from Israel, and we export to it 64 percent. The Palestinian territories are the landfill for Israeli goods. The total domestic product of settlements reaches $4-5 billion annually in addition to water resources," he said.
Meanwhile, it cost Israel nothing to occupy Palestinian land, he added. US military and economic support sustained Israeli regional hegemony, and had created a situation in which 5-6 million Israelis were producing more economically than 130 million Arabs.

Carl, what do you think about the option of unilateral declaration of independecy and its approval by Security Counsil of the UN? Is it likely to happen?
The Palestinians don't want to work. They expect others to do all their heavy lifting for them. If they launch another intifada, it will graze to be sure but they will be set back decades and have to start over from scratch. Israel in the final analysis cannot and should be, an affirmative action program for its enemy.
Israel should make it clear to them there will be no safety net after another war. Let's see then if the Palestinians still think they have options.
