Americans urged to avoid traveling to Lebanon

It's about time. The US State Department has urged Americans to avoid traveling to Lebanon.
Washington advised on Friday Americans to avoid traveling to Lebanon over security fears in the country, reported As Safir on Saturday.

A State Department statement said that even though Lebanon is experiencing relative calm, the possibility of sudden violence erupting is a serious matter, adding that Lebanese authorities are incapable of guaranteeing the safety of citizens and visitors.

Furthermore, it noted that Lebanese officials themselves have warned that an indictment in the investigation in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri may lead to civil unrest and other acts of violence in Lebanon.
It's funny that no one is warning Israelis not to travel to Lebanon. Heh.
