On Sunday afternoon, an IDF force thwarted a terror attack coming from Gaza. Here's how it was reported by three different sources (Hat Tip: Shy Guy).

Here's what the JPost reported under the headline IDF foils attempted terror attack at Gaza border fence.

An IDF force foiled an attempted terror attack when it opened fire on a group of men approaching the security fence between Gaza and southern Israel carrying firearms an an RPG launcher, near Kibbutz Erez, on Sunday.

According to Palestinian sources, three were killed as a result of the IDF fire, a 91-year-old farmer, his 17-year-old grandson and another 20-year-old male.

The IDF did not report any soldiers injured in the incident.

Earlier Sunday, the IDF identified multiple individuals attempting to come close to the security fence and fired warning shots, according to the IDF Spokesperson.

The IDF also spotted two projectiles crashing into Israel, possibly mortar or rockets.

Four rockets were shot into Israel from Gaza during the course of the holiday.

Here's what Arutz Sheva reported under the headline IDF kills two in firefight with Gaza terror infiltrators.

An IDF force fired on terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Israel from Gaza Sunday afternoon. Two Arabs were reportedly killed in the firefight between the IDF and the terrorists. According to initial reports, the two were terrorists, and a third member of the squad may have escaped. A report from another source said the IDF artillery fired at a target near Beit Hanoun, killing two and wounding three.

IDF sources said the terrorists were about to launch an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) at the IDF.

Arab sources claimed that the two people killed were civilian bystanders: an aged shepherd and his grandson.

The incident occurred near Kibbutz Erez.

Terrorists tried to distract IDF forces on the border with Gaza by firing three mortars at Israel during the attempted infiltration.

Arutz Sheva then goes on to report on the rockets and mortars fired at Israeli communities along the Gaza envelope (as its own) during the weekend and today.

Also Sunday, Hamas security officials said an Israeli tank opened fire on north Gaza, killing three Palestinians and wounding five more.

The Israeli military said soldiers opened fire on Palestinian militants who were about to fire a rocket-propelled grenade near the Israeli border.

Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians are common. Israel says Palestinians often try to infiltrate or plant explosives on the border and sometimes fire rockets and mortars at Israel.

Palestinians complain that Israel is enforcing a wide no-go zone in Gaza, and soldiers open fire on farmers and other civilians who enter.
