Sabbath music video

If you're a woman, and you plan to be in Jerusalem this week, I have some bad news for you. If you were planning to go to the Simchath Beit Hashoeva at any of the popular Meah Shearim synagogues, unless you have an identification card that says you're a member of the community, you're out. There were signs all over Meah Shearim and Geula on Wednesday saying that because of life endangering conditions in overcrowded women's balconies, all women who were not from the community were being excluded.

Why are these celebrations so popular? Here's a video from the most popular place of all - Toldos Aharon - from four years ago.

Let's go to the videotape.

And they kept the song about the 'rule of the kuffr' out of the video. Heh.

Shabbat Shalom and Moadim l'Simcha to everyone. I'll be back on Saturday night, God willing.
