Egypt captures Shalit's jailer
Egypt has captured Hamas intelligence chief Mohammed El Tebabshe. Tebabshe is one of the few people who knows where kidnapped IDF corporal Gilad Shalit is being kept.Israeli military commentator Guy Bechor says that El Tebabshe knows where kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilar Shalit is being held as well as the full details of the Hamas missile system aimed at Israel. He said Shalit would likely be moved from his hiding place as a result of the capture. If only we had a real alliance with the Egyptians. /sigh
But we do have great satellites and if they can find weapons in Lebanese homes, they ought to be able to track where Hamas is moving Gilad Shalit. Right?

I just don't understand why the IDF won't mount a rescue operation. Bring him back - alive or dead.
Its the principle that matters.
twist his nipples till he talks
NormanF - because at this point it would be dead, and probably leave 10 IDF commandos dead with him. Too high a price. The option is just to bomb the crap out of the location, definitely killing him and his jailers (but not the big guys), not much more. Just imagine a booby trapped basement with one narrow entry, surrounded by buildings on all sides loaded with RPG's, 2 of which are kindergartens on the first floor.
Now on the other hand, cut power, water and phone service, all cash movement, and close the crossings until he's returned - why not?
I still don't understand why Israel doesn't have a program of capturing high level Hamas members and holding them indefinitely, for release collectively only when exchanged for an alive and unharmed Shalit. (And holding them under the same conditions. No Red Cross visits, no relative visits, no regular mail for Shalit, exactly ditto for the Hamas prisoners.)
I'll get him to speak. All I need is a rope, a tree with some suitable branches, and a wood chipper.
