Obama throws Europe under the bus

In an interview this week with Italy's Corriere della Sera President Obama blamed Europe for Turkey's drift into the radical Islamist camp.
In an interview with Italian media, U.S. President Barack Obama said that the European Union was to blame for the “drift” by Turkey to the radical Islamic camp.

“If the Turks do not feel themselves part of the European family, it is natural that they should end up looking elsewhere for alliances and affiliations,” Obama told Italy's Corriere della Sera.
That's oversimplified nonsense.

The AKP was looking to Islamize Turkey regardless of whether it was accepted into the European Union. If anything, the EU is lucky that it never accepted Turkey, because now it does not have to deal with what is rapidly becoming a radical Islamist state as one of its members.

And Obama himself is to blame for Turkey's aspirations on the global stage. For if he did not insist on degrading the United States' military capabilities and exceptionalism, it's unlikely the Turks would be trying what they are trying to do.

And by the way, who wrote the letter that said that Iran turning over 1,200 kilos of enriched uranium would satisfy the international community after Iran had several additional months to enrich more?

Christian Europe does not want a Muslim state in its family. It is even less likely to accept one now that Turkey is overtly Islamist. There is zero support in the European Union for admitting Turkey as a member. Its not going to happen in the foreseeable future.
