Iran's representative in the US cries 'the sky is falling'

Jamal Abdi of the National Iranian American Council - the Iranian government's paid shill in the United States - sounds an alarm over a resolution that's been going around the House of Representatives for several months that gives Congressional approval to an Israeli strike on Iran (Hat Tip: Memeorandum). The resolution has been signed by about one third of the House Republicans. Abdi calls for House Minority leader John Bohner (R-Ind) to 'denounce' the resolution.

Abdi gives the usual litany of bad things that would happen as a result of an Israeli (and for that matter US) strike on Iran, but gives no alternative for stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Indeed, he doesn't even say that a nuclear armed Iran would be a bad thing - presumably because he doesn't think it would be.

Bottom line - I'm in favor of the resolution because it shows the Iranians just how serious the United States (hopefully) is about stopping Iran. As bad as an attack on Iran might be, a nuclear armed Iran would be far worse.

The resolution may be viewed below.

They're worried the sky is falling? What happened to all that loving talk of "engagement?" Iran missed the honeymoon.
