Cruising the Egyptian coast

Israel Radio reports at 6:00 pm that the Libyan ship Amalthea is cruising slowly along the Egyptian coast and it is not yet clear where the ship will land.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Aboul Gheit said that Egypt has given the ship permission to land.

A news conference will be held in Tripoli (Libya) Wednesday night to discuss the ship. The IDF believes that the Libyans are backing down out of concern for the ship's Libyan passengers and crew.

There are advantages to having a recognized deterrent. Maybe they don't really want to be 'martyrs.' Heh.

Will they dock in El Arish? Its interesting that for all the supposed urgency in helping the seemingly oppressed Gazans, the Libyans are in no real hurry to get the aid delivered to them.

Hopefully the first of many deterrents. Time for Israel to get back to her "old" self.
