Ahmadinejad calls for negotiations

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad laughed at UN sanctions again on Monday, but called for direct negotiations with the United States.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran's enemies are "idiots" and that UN sanctions will not make his country abandon its nuclear program on Monday.

Addressing industrialists in northern Iran, the Iranian leader said that the sanctions will only help Iran, forcing it toward achieving greater economic self-sufficiency. The president's speech was broadcast live on state television.

...

Ahmadinejad called for negotiations with the US over the nuclear issue and mocked the latest round of sanctions the US helped push through the UN Security Council during his speech on Monday

"We are for negotiations, but to do so you have to sit down like a good boy," Ahmadinejad was quoted by AFP as saying in reference to the US in his speech. "They adopt a resolution to force a dialogue, but this cowboy logic has no place in Iran."

Ahmadinejad also criticized the US for opposing Iran's nuclear program out of the fear that it will acquire a nuclear weapon when the US has over "5,000 fourth and fifth generation atomic bombs."
Will that get Obama to negotiate with him? Obama has been trying for a year and a half. Hmmm.

I'd like to see Obama agree to meet with. And tell him that he reopens all facilities to the IAEA so that they can verify that there is no weapons development going before they even start to "negotiate" over other aspects of their nuclear program. And that if Iran does not, they'll bomb the crap out of them.

But I'm a dreamer. It's far more likely that our most recent Nobel Peace Prize laureate will fall for this obvious stalling tactic.

Its funny, really. He would have gotten more attention if he had called for direct negotiations between Iran and Israel! I mean if you can talk to the Great Satan, where it is haram to the talk to the Little One? He's got himself boxed between a rock and a hard place.

Heh
