Erdogan wants to visit Gaza

According to a report in the Lebanese newspaper al-Mustakbal, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan wishes to break Israel's 'blockade' of Gaza by visiting there himself (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
According to the report, Erdogan told the American administration he was planning to ask his navy to escort another aid flotilla, but that American officials asked him to delay the plan in order to look into the matter.

The newspaper reported that the Erdogan government was under a lot of pressure from "political and popular groups" to annul all military agreements with Israel, but that the military establishment was strongly opposed to this demand.
Erdogan has brought that pressure on himself through his anti-Semitic policies. And as far as him visiting Gaza, let him try it.

Heh.

Yup. Let him try to challenge Israel's sovereignty. Ditto for Iran. Israel will defend itself. I think its bluster but Israel needs to be prepared for any developments. But this does reveal whose side the Turks are now on. Let's hope Israel's government gets it.

The military needs to re-establish control over Turkey, and pull it back from the brink of islamism.

Having their islamist prime minister on a boat, with say, the entire islamist leadership, attempt to violate a legal and active blockade against a terror entity ... this would be sufficient for a coup. Let Israel capture and indict them for support of terror, and let the military re-take control of Turkey.

It is their only hope.

I would love to see a military coup in Turkey. I have no idea how it would change the political climate in the region but I love to see enemies of Israel receive their due. I can't see Israel engineering this sort of thing though - this move would be best initiated from the Top.

I agree with above. Kranky is right, but the islamists have been arresting and purging the armed forces. Let's hope they mutiny and do a coup.

Smash Erdogan and his terrorists!
