Cartoon: Ship of peace

Heh (Hat Tip: Michael P).

This actually raises a serious point. I got an email yesterday from David Bernstein of the Volokh Conspiracy urging me and about four other bloggers (pretty elite company) to urge everyone we know in the Israeli government to stop referring to the flotilla of fools as 'peace activists.' David wrote:
It would be very helpful if you could tell whatever contacts you have in the Israeli government to stop calling the Free Gaza people “Peace activists”. They seem to think that there are either violent terrorists on the one hand, or peace activists on the other. How about “non-violent Pro-Palestinian” activists, instead of “peace activists?” I’ve looked at the Free Gaza website, and there is nothing there calling for Hamas to stop engaging in violence, to recognize Israel, etc., which belies the notion that they are simply peace activists.
In a subsequent email, David wrote that it would be better to call them 'anti-blockade activists' than 'peace activists.'

Danny Ayalon, are you listening?

isn't it a war crime to use areas populated by civilians to launch attacks? call them war criminals.

OK, so if I try to get in touch with the Volokh guys and pitch my "rockets onto Israeli civilians = warcrimes, and need to be explained and broadcasted after every rocket" philosophy, it might make it through them back to the right people in Israel? And maybe Danny Ayalon is the guy that needs to hear it? This is very good to know.

Someone, Yisrael Medad? is calling them "peace terrorists". I think that's very good.

But "war criminals" would be fine.

Its hard to take Stupid Jews out of the Ghetto. Israel does the right thing and then lapses back into bad habits. As I said, preparing the Jewish State's leaders for the post-Oslo world will not be an easy task.

After every event, Israel should be out front forward, in English, in front of every camera possible, pushing a very simple meme. Its time to stop letting the terrorists and their friends monopolize the airwaves. Its time to make them hurt, and rethink the effort to mess with the country.

Until Israel gets serious about doing this, this will escalate and only get worse.

Israel, and any government folks reading this: The way to stop a bully from picking on you is not tit-for-tat. It is to hit them back so hard, on all fronts, with all capabilities, that they think twice and thrice about attacking you again.

You might recognize this. It is called deterrence. You need to do this in propaganda as well as on the battlefields.

Oh, and while you are at it, find the nitwit who insisted on paintball guns, and fire them on the spot. I don't care if it was Ehud Barak. That was foolish beyond belief.

If you are going to go onto a boat to take it over, you do not go with toy weapons. If you have to kill, kill as few as possible to make the point not to mess with you. Otherwise you embolden the enemy and you have to kill more of them to stop them.

To make lemonade out of lemons, take advantage at the intent demonstrated by the IDF/paintguns vs the "peace terrorists" doing shahid wills and chanting for dead Jews. Of course, if one of those IDF guys were my son, I'd be in tantrumland. Makes we queasy to even think about it. Dispatch Israeli lawyers to file warcrime, wrongful death, property crime, any and all lawsuits against Hamas with great fanfare anywhere you can find to file them...

Fox news calls them "pro-Palestinian activists".

I think everybody should follow the example. It's simple, descriptive, and doesn't try too hard to score any points.
