Even more good news: Abu Bluff says Netanyahu agreed to 'settlement freeze' in Jerusalem
'Moderate' 'Palestinian' PresidentPalestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s readiness to enter proximity talks with Israel, which he announced during an interview with Channel 2 Monday evening, follows assurances the Palestinians received from US special Middle East envoy George Mitchell that the Israeli government would effectively freeze construction of new homes in some of Jerusalem’s neighborhoods, a PA official in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post.Read the whole thing.
“[Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu has promised the Americans that the Ramat Shlomo housing project won’t take place, at least not in the near future,” the official told the Post. “Netanyahu has also promised to refrain from taking provocative measures in the city, such as publishing new house tenures or demolishing Arab houses under the pretext that they were built without permission.”
The official added that Abbas’s new stance was the result of heavy pressure from the US administration and that the interview had been conducted at the request of the Americans, who advised Abbas to send a “conciliatory” message to Netanyahu and the Israeli public to pave the way for the resumption of the “proximity talks.”
During the Channel 2 interview, Abbas said he would seek the Arab League’s assent to such talks on May 1, and hoped the league’s decision would be “positive.”

Abbas (incubator of terror and hate for Israel.. denier of the Shoah) was dubbed a MAN OF PEACE by our "best friend" after all.
Who knows, before this saga is finished Obama might just come visit Israel (in the weeks before his term is over) and upon leaving the Kennest, proclaim: "TAKE GOOD CARE OF (olmert) I mean NETANYAHU!!"
Great read in YNET:

Ettinger asks:
"Has American foreign aid to Abbas advanced moderation, the pursuit of peace and US national security interests? "
Mr. Ettinger, Who freaking pushed the train out of the station?? And if you call those horrible years following the intifada elevating and whitewashing the PLO "moderation" I have another bridge to sell you.
About the picture on this thread with Abbas holding that framed picture showing all of Israel, PALESTINE ZOA called Bush on that one, pleading to expose Abbas.
No one might be worse then the certifiable narcissist (closest antisemite) Obama, but the road from point A to point B was paved by throwing Israel beneath the bus by a multitude of U.S. Presidents. However, nothing stings worse then the misconception Bush was "the best friend of Israel.
Cry for Jerusalem. You're darn right!! Our best friend denied us Jerusalem, by failing to make good on his campaign promise. Yet, the guy you call Abu Bluff never once had the lease to the PLO office in NY axed by executive order.(by our best friend) What can you expect now?
Israel did give away the store. What's left to give up?
What could go wrong indeed
