Good news: IDF setting up border police unit just for revenants

The IDF has set up a new border police unit to deal specifically with revenants, raising fears that an expulsion of Jews from Judea and Samaria is planned.
Fears in Yesha that the government in planning another disengagement. The IDF Spokesman's Office reports that a new special force from the Border Police is to be positioned in the Samaria region "to prevent harm to Palestinian property and ensure public order". The IDF says the decision was made due to "violent confrontations" during Independence Day.

Yesha activists have responded by asking why no similar force has been created to deal with violent leftist protests against IDF soldiers that occur weekly near the Arab town of Biilin.
The IDF cannot really use its ordinary combat units to expel Jews from their homes: Much of the officers corps is made up of residents of Judea and Samaria and there is much fear on the Left that those officers and their soldiers will not follow orders to expel their neighbors from their homes.

The border police, on the other hand, tend to have a far higher concentration of 'minorities' (Bedouin and Druze) and to be more willing to carry out such an order.

What could go wrong?

They just demolished Obama's Shack in the middle of nowhere. It'll probably be rebuilt soon enough. How many Israeli taxpayers' shekels did it cost Barak to sent a full squad of Yassam after an insignificant shack? With all the problems facing Israel these days, one would think the Israeli government has more important things to worry about than shacks in the middle of nowhere.

You'd be wrong about that - what the Jews do or don't do in Yesha worries it to no end.
