I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' I can just imagine a robber of an Israeli 7-11 standing at the counter, gun pointed at the clerk, then this squad of M-16 armed women soldiers walks in.
Truly an OH, SH*T! moment. :-)
Unlike in America, armed soldiers are ubiquitous throughout Israel and there's never been any controversy about "open carry" in stores, shops and restaurants in that country.
