The U.S. is also sick of the Palestinians who never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Emanuel reportedly said.
Emanuel added that if there is no progress in the peace process, the Obama administration will reduce its involvement in the conflict, because, as he reportedly said, the U.S. has other matters to deal with.

Jeffrey Goldberg reports that the White House is denying this story.
Ben Rhodes at the White House just e-mailed me the following flat denial: "Rahm Emanuel did not make the comments that are attributed to him in Ha'aretz."Unless Dayan (Israel's consul general in Los Angeles to whom the remarks were allegedly made) flat out denies it, I believe it. In fact, even if Dayan denies it, I'm not sure it's false.
I have a call in to Dayan in order to figure this out.

Some people are sick in the opposite direction
Emanuel Rahm can go fly a kite. Israelis are fed up with and his boss. It would be a good thing if his Administration gave up its one sided obsession with Israel. You would think he would have something good to say about the painful steps Israel took to to help restart negotiations. Zip, zero, zilch, nada.
Never trust Rahm to be fair to Israel. Ever.
If Israel gets no respect even after making laughable concessions, the argument for making concessions vanishes.
This story has only one interpretation: Bibi outsmarted Rahm by all counts.
The threat is also credible: threatening not to visit the region, Obama scares us all...
