Fatah: 'Return all of Jerusalem or no talks'
A resolution adopted at the conference of the 'moderate' Fatah terror organization calls for the 'return of all Jerusalem' (both 'east' and 'west') before any further talks are held with Israel. According to the report, a document adopted by the Fatah delegates of the assembly declared that Palestinians would "continue to be sacrificed until residents of Jerusalem are free of settlements and settlers." The document went on to state that all of Jerusalem, including the surrounding villages, belonged to the Palestinians, and lands conquered following the Six Day War shared the same status as those located within the Green Line.Indeed.
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz blasted the statement Saturday, saying that the declaration was a clear message to all those who maintained the "illusion that the Palestinians were prepared for compromise," Israel Radio reported.
Does anyone really believe that the 'Palestinians' are ready for compromise?

Sounds like a declaration of war to me. Of course, the GOI will downplay it so as not to disturb the useful fiction of a "moderate" PA led by a "moderate" Mahmoud Abbas.
This story (which is of immense import) does not currently appear anywhere on the BBC or Reuters websites. No surprise here as the MSM maintains a tacit agreement never to report stories which demonstrate Palestinian intransigence or barbarism.
Eventually of course, it will have to be reported but the spin will be something along the lines of, "Fatah parries Netanyahu's position on Jerusalem".
Continue to stake out reasonable defensible political ground. Continue to allow the 'Palis' to self destruct.
Then, after the change in administration in 2012, push for complete removal of PA and 'Palis' from Judea and Samaria. They can have Gaza. Declare the conflict over, set borders unilaterally if needed, and let them pound sand.
Its time to set a firm hard deadline beyond which there are no more negotiations, no more discussions, and an end is declared to the conflict.
This opens the door to a reasonable military response in the event of their inevitable violation of Israeli sovereignty.
'Palis' cannot help but to do the wrong thing for themselves, and for their people. Maybe its their leadership, their culture, or other aspects.
Who knows. Who cares. I don't.
Its time to end this. They need to grasp that there is an expiration date for negotiations and for finalization, beyond which they lose any illusion of control.
but, this is a historical chance to rid ourselves from "peace" moves and Obama blackmail. Excellent !!!!!

in which Yisrael Katz is quoted as saying:

- but without the context. Without mention of the statement from Fatah about the return of "all" of Jerusalem, the quote is a total non sequitur that makes Israel sound hostile for no particular reason.
I am just going through the mental exercise of "thinking like the enemy".
Does anyone think that this overture is Fatah's attempt to rebuke Israel's recent Sheikh Jarrah construction. Are they trying to say: If Israel claims the all of Jerusalem, then so do we. For consumption by the louts in the EU/UN/White House, this will be interpreted according to moral equivalency of course: what's the difference between israel and fatah's claim of singular control of Jersusalem?

Where exactly in the article is the excerpt that you posted by Katz? I can't for the life of me find it.
The Palestinians don't want to share Jerusalem. Its a grenade tossed into the laps of the Israeli Left. So much for all the talk of Palestinian willingness to co-exist with Israel.

The Jerusalem Post article was updated and this statement appears to have been removed. Is it not correct?
The Jerusalem Post article has indeed been changed. According to the article still posted in Ha'aretz in which Fatah's position is discussed, however:
"...According to Israel Radio, the paper does not make a distinction between the eastern and western halves of the capital, nor does it distinguish between the territories within the Israeli side of the Green Line and the areas captured by Israel in the 1967 Six-Day War."

Similarly, UPI reports:
JERUSALEM, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Both east and west Jerusalem must be returned to Palestinian Arabs before peace talks can resume, the sixth Fatah General Assembly decreed Saturday.
Israel Radio reported the Palestinian political group has adopted a document declaring the return of both halves of Jerusalem was a non-negotiable "red line" in Palestinian-Israel relations, The Jerusalem Post said.
