More 'good news': Obama to force Israel down from the Golan
Israel Radio reports this morning that when Obama envoys Jeffrey Feltman and Daniel Shapiro visit Damascus for the second time in two months later today, they will be bearing a gift for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad: Feltman and Shapiro will promise Assad that the US will bring Israel to the table to 'negotiate' over the Golan at the same time as it is 'negotiating' with the 'Palestinians' over Judea and Samaria.Remember the Netanyahu government strategy of trying to play off the 'Syrian track' against the 'Palestinian track'? Fuggedaboutit.
What could go wrong?

Israel Radio updates in its 9:00 am newscast to note that this report is based upon a report in an Arabic newspaper (whose name I didn't catch) in the Persian Gulf, and that if the Syrians answer favorably, Middle East envoy George Mitchell will visit Damascus within two weeks.
In other words, there will be yet another fait accomplis (why would the Syrians say no?) facing Mr. Netanyahu when he goes to Washington.

The US considers Israel to be expendable. Sultan Knish says the game is well under way. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
If you thought Benjamin Netanyahu was sweating at the ramping up of American pressure, he's going to see it become very intense by the time he gets to Washington.
