Obama's National Security Adviser says he will be 'forceful' with Israel
According to Haaretz, James Jones (pictured), National Security Adviser to Democratic President Barack Hussein Obama told an unnamed European foreign minister that the Obama administration would be 'forceful' with the Netanyahu government to bring about the creation of a 'Palestinian' Gen. Jones is the main force in the Obama administration stressing the Palestinian question and believes that the United States must become more intensively involved in the matter vis-a-vis both Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Several days ago, a classified telegram was received in Jerusalem discussing a meeting between Jones and a European foreign minister. Jones told his European interlocutor that President George W. Bush had avoided actions on the Palestinian question that Israel opposed, but the Obama administration intended to change this practice and become more active. It would not make concessions on matters that Israel had committed to.
"The new administration will convince Israel to compromise on the Palestinian question," Jones said. "We will not push Israel under the wheels of a bus, but we will be more forceful toward Israel than we have been under Bush."
Jones is quoted in the telegram as saying that the United States, European Union and moderate Arab states must redefine "a satisfactory endgame solution."
The U.S. national security adviser did not mention Israel as party to these consultations.
If 'redefining the endgame' and then imposing the new definition on Israel isn't 'pushing Israel under the wheels of the bus,' what is?

Jones' "satisfactory endgame solution" sounds frighteningly like "final solution" to me. At this moment, the US seems to be more of a threat to our existence than Iran.
Somehow, I think Bibi will face a very tough audience in Washington. Israel is not going to be allowed to pursue its own national interests as she sees fit. Israel will be told to take the Obama approach to peace or face the fate of being thrown under the bus.
James Jones' reported comment is a sign of the chilly reception Israel's new Prime Minister can expect to receive in Washington.
This is why Netanyahu has to wait out this administration. Israel can, and should, sit with hand folded on their laps, politely listening, and then moving on to other topics.
A solution cannot be dictated. It has to be agreed to. Among peoples whom are willing to agree. Pushing the agreeable partner towards the disagreeable partner is a recipe for a future war.
Which is what Obama and his henchmen are cooking up.
Be polite, but deflect.
We in the US, courtesy of president training wheels, are giving up our "go-it-alone" mentality, pissing off our friends, and coddling our enemies.
It is up to Israel to form alliances with the USes former friends, to help it resist pressure to do things that are so obviously not in its own interest.
Obama said what he was going to do before and during his campaign. What he didn't say, his associates did. The problem is, nobody believed him - those who were against him never believed he would be so audacious, and those who were for him never believe he would ever try to carry it so far. A more appropriate title for his book would have been "The Audacity of Audacity". What is going on in America is nothing short of a revolution and it is revolving so fast the Americans' heads are spinning. What is going on with the U.S. Israel relationship is a process. A quick one, but never-the-less a process. When the Obama administration is done, America will not be the same country it was and the historic relationship between Israel and the U.S. will be just that - historical. But before that happens, Obama will use all the sway he has left to weaken Israel's position. If you don't believe that, re-read a few of Reverend Wright's sermons and ask yourself if someone who sat through 20 years of that maniacs bilge would have done so if he really didn't believe it.
