I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. If Israel wanted to make peace happen, it would terminate UNRWA's mission and give it 24 hours to get out of Judea and Samaria and Gaza.
It will happen alright - when pigs fly!
The problem is that the Palestinians have never accepted that Israel is there to stay.
They oppose any resettlement of the refugees as a
"ploy" by Israel to keep them from their "original" homes that they left.
It emphasizes the importance of the Israeli demand that the Pals and Arab states "recognize" Israel and its right to exist -- until that point, they will not accept a solution to the refugee problem.
