Moonbat ship to Gaza intercepted by Israeli Navy, refuses to turn back
Yet another attempt to sensationally bring 'supplies' to Gaza is underway. The web site of the group that sends the ships reports that the Israeli Navy has intercepted the latest version of the SS Moonbat, but the boat's captain is refusing to turn back. Based on the Google map coordinates given, the ship is about 50 miles west of Haifa. The web site (I won't link it) reports that the Navy has ordered the ship to stop and that the captain refused to stop it and is heading for Gaza. Here's a report from a Lebanese web site.
Israeli troops on Wednesday intercepted a Lebanese ship that sailed toward Gaza carrying activists and supplies.I don't think the IDF is going to let this ship reach Gaza regardless of the consequences. But Cynthia McKinney isn't on this time. Stay tuned.
New TV, which has two reporters on board the "Brotherhood Ship," said two Israeli gunships intercepted the boat, firing shots near it.
The Lebanese ship sailed on Wednesday toward Gaza carrying activists and supplies after a stopover in Cyprus.
The activists include the former Greek-Catholic archbishop of Jerusalem, Monsignor Hilarion Capucci, who left Jerusalem in the 1970s after serving time in an Israeli jail for membership of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Organizer Hani Suleiman said that Cypriot authorities had cleared the way for the trip after searching the vessel to ensure transparency.
Larnaca Port Manager Pampis Vassiliou said the Togo-flagged "Tali" carrying about 60 tons of medicine and food as well as eight activists and journalists left Cyprus for Gaza Wednesday morning after an overnight stopover at the port.
The ship is trying to reach Gaza in defiance of an Israeli blockade. Organizers said the trip has not been cleared by Israeli authorities, who have turned back similar aid boats trying to reach Gaza.
UPDATE THURSDAY 12:34 AM
Within the last couple of hours, IAF jets have flown close to the ship and have fired flares near it. The captain received radio warnings not to proceed.
UPDATE THURSDAY 8:12 AM
Arutz Sheva is reporting that the ship was forced to turn back to the Lebanese port of Tyre.
UPDATE THURSDAY 8:46 AM
Haaretz reports that the ship was fired on 32 kilometers (20 miles) off the coast of Gaza, and that the organizers are claiming that it is still in the waters off Gaza's coast.

JUST SINK IT! It'll be a deterrent that will make other deluded moonbats think twice before rushing out to aid Hamas. Israel can deal with the bad press fallout from such a move but stands to lose the main benefit from Operation Cast Lead if she should back down. No country is obligated to allow assistance to reach an enemy.
Too bad McKinney isn't on this one - I would really have liked to see her try to swim back to Lebanon or Cyprus when it gets sunk.
Where are these guys getting the money from? I thought they were broke?
Next time sink the darn thing and pray that McKinney is on it when they do.
