'Tens' of 'Palestinians' killed

11:00 Israel Radio news

Navy and artillery shelling Gaza.

In Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun there were battles. 'Tens' of 'Palestinians' were killed.

Navy shelled cooking gas storage and there's a huge fire. [That was a 'Palestinian' report - JPost describes it as a gas storage facility. CiJ]

One rocket shot at western Negev. No damage.

Tens of thousands of reserves called up.

Central and northern sectors also on alert.

IDF spokesman says no time limit. Rocket fire may increase over the next several days.

Abu Mazen condemned the ground operation. Saeb Erekat says Abu Mazen called for the UN Security Council to meet. (Guess who's winning?).

EU calls IDF action defensive and not offensive. See previous story.

Reserves not for the north, but we're keeping a watch on the north.

No school within 40 kilometers of Gaza tomorrow.

Southern residents called on to remain in or near shelters. 15 seconds warning per 10km from Gaza. Stay in the shelter for at least five minutes after you hear the warning.
