Israel to celebrate the 'tragedy' of its existence

I know that headline is a bit incomprehensible, but please allow me to explain.

On the 5th day of the Jewish month of Iyar, which coincides with the Sabbath this year so it will be moved up to the 3rd day (May 8), the State of Israel will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its independence. The celebrations are supposed to be going on most of the year, and one of those celebrations is going to be a film festival next month. The film festival will highlight - I kid you not - the role of the British Mandate in bringing about what the 'Palestinians' call the naqba, the 'tragedy' of Israel's existence. This one is at least partly the Brits' fault:
British filmmaker Judy Price, an activist in the fringe group Jews for Justice for Palestinians, has been selected to curate a series of archival film screenings around the British Mandate period for the festival marking Israel's 60th anniversary.

Price, in turn, invited Israeli-born anti-Zionist film lecturer Haim Bresheeth to take part in the festival. However, Bresheeth turned down the request, saying he said he would not come to the "racist" state to speak, as Israel had "crossed all the boundaries of a civilized nation."

"The best and only thing we could and should all be doing is having no contact whatsoever with official and institutional Israel, certainly not being part of the celebrations of the destruction of Palestine," he said.

"My whole family was destroyed by the Nazis in the death camps and ghettos, and will not participate in any action which denies the rights of the Palestinians, or which celebrates the victory‚ of their oppressors," he added.

In response, Price said she saw the festival as "an opportunity to bring to the forefront the British Mandate's role in the Nakba and establishment in the State of Israel and to construct a program that could not in any way be interpreted as jingoistic or nationalistic."

A spokesperson for the British Council in Tel Aviv told The Jerusalem Post that Price had been chosen for her artistic credentials.
Someone please remind me what this 'film festival' is supposed to be celebrating.

Then again, aside from the usual affliction this country has with Jewish self-hate, given that the minister of 'science, culture and sport' at present is 'Israeli Arab' Raed Majadle, who has stated that he will never sing the Israeli national anthem and that Israeli sovereignty is non-existent and Islam rules on the Temple Mount, I suppose we should not be too surprised. Majadle is the first 'Israeli Arab' to serve as a minister in the Israeli government. If he keeps this up, he may well be the last.

Maybe Olmert will show up at the Western Wall holding a sign, "Jooos Out of Palestine".

Sad state of affairs. The Fifth Column running the State Department is hell-bent-for-election to destroy Israel; Condi Rice is clueless; and it appears that the James "Fuck the Jews" Baker Doctrine is gaining traction.

This goy's prayers are with Israel and her people during what should be a joyous, festive occasion.

Happy 60th!

May there be at least 6,000 more.

Don't kid yourself. This Jew-hating Arab minister is just the first.

Israel seems to have bought into the myth that it is a rogue nation that doesn't deserve to exist.
