Second Holocaust Watch

At Pajamas Media, Ron Rosenbaum has a positively scary post:
Back in 2002 I initiated a major controversy among Jewish writers by daring to mention the possibility of a “second Holocaust”—-the destruction of the State of Israel, most likely through a nuclear exchange. I quoted Iranian mullah Hashemi Rasfanjani declaring that Iran would not be particularly upset to lose 10 or 15 million people in a nuclear exchange with Israel if it resulted in the extermiation of 5 million Jews there and left a billion or more Muslims alive. Bascially he was saying that there was no deterrence.

...

Alas a Second Holocaust is now virtually Iranian state policy.(although their leader denies the first one). Today Drudge links to a report that Iran’s nuclear program is nearly complete. And to a speech by Bibi Netanyahu in Los Angeles in which he says “It’s 1938 and Iran is Germany”. He then adds the despairing “No one cared then. No one cares now.”

The problem is that even if the world did care, it might not make a difference.
This is all too correct. And the only way Iran is going to be stopped (if it can still be stopped) is through military action. The best bet to take military action is the US under George Bush. Bush, being a lame duck, doesn't have to worry about public reaction, and can attack Iran's nukes and worry about heat from Congress later (the US has never resolved the contradiction in the constitution where the Congress has the power to declare war, but the President is the Commander-in-Chief of the Army). Don't bet on Israel taking any action. Not with this bunch of clowns in charge.
