Palestinian banks, under threat, to grant loans for unpaid wages

This morning, I reported that some employees of the 'Palestinian Authority' were going to be paid, but there was a problem because Palestinian banks were refusing to transfer the money out of fear of American sanctions.

You'll all be pleased that the problem has been 'resolved' in a way that only the 'Palestinians' could resolve it. Four armed Palestinian factions linked to Hamas and Fatah threatened local banks, saying it was their national duty to help pay out the salaries and assist the Palestinian people. As a a result, the banks have decided to 'lend' the money to the 'Palestinian Authority' employees. The loans will start tomorrow with the lowest paid employees, and will eventually cover one month's salary for all employees of the 'Palestinian Authority.' I wonder how the 'employees' in Israeli jails will sign their papers :-)

"We are ready to lose millions of dollars but not to risk ourrelationship with U.S. banks and risk international sanctions," a banking official said about the arrangement, which avoids dealing directly with the Hamas-led government.

Give these people a state reichlet.
