As of 6:00 pm this evening, 50.3% of
eligible voters had cast ballots in today's election. That compares with 47.3% in 2006 and 52.3% in 2003. This is a higher turnout than expected.
The polls are open until 10:00.
In the 2006 election, turnout was an all-time low 63%.
Election day is a paid holiday in Israel.
1 Comments:
Looks like turnout will be around 62% by the time the polls close at 10:00 pm - if voting is extended from the 9:00 pm closing time.
