Locals told Ma’an that the fisherman, named as Hamed Salah, 30, was pulling in fish when the three-meter shark attacked him.
Hamed was taken to the emergency room at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Medics said he lost two fingers on his left hand.
Gaza
fishermen in March snared a similarly large shark, prompting locals to
crowd the shore taking pictures. The shark was brought onto land and
sent to the Khan Younis fish market to be sold for 20 shekels ($5.41) a
kilo.

meters in length, but rarely larger.

Israel tracking Russian troop movements in Syrian port?
This one is surreal. A report in the Sunday Times of London (where else?) claims that IDF's Shayetet 13 planted listening devices in rocks in the Syrian port of Tartus to track the movements of Russian troops.
According to the report, the materials were
planted under cover of darkness by the IDF’s Shayetet 13 naval
commandos, who spent several hours on the island installing the
equipment and ensuring that it worked. The commandos had allegedly
visited the island previously to collect information on the local rocks,
so that the equipment could be properly camouflaged.
“Any unusual activity by the Russians in
Tartus, such as a sudden evacuation of families and non-essential
personnel, would be good indicators for the Israelis that something big
was happening,” The Times quoted a defense source as saying.

Earlier this month, Syrian state-run TV
released pictures of the devices Damascus said were designed to
photograph, register and transfer data.
The television footage aired on Syrian TV
showed what looked like a camera and a satellite dish, and other objects
that resembled rocks. Plastic boxes resembling batteries and cables
were also displayed.
I wonder if we've also sent the vulture and the shark. Heh.

Gaza official Mahmoud Kabarati on Tuesday denied media reports that sharks had been spotted on the Gaza Strip's coastline.
According to reports in the Israeli media on Tuesday, sharks had ventured near the Gaza shore because of environmental changes in the Mediterranean.
The sharks were attracted by the depth of the water off Gaza's coast and by the large number of fishing boats, the reports said.
Kabarati, who heads Gaza's federation of fishermen and water sports, said the claims were false.
"It is known at an international level that water off the coast is deeper in the south which means it is shallower in the Gaza Strip's coasts," he said.
He added that Israel restricted fishing boats to three nautical miles from the coastline, and that Gaza fishermen barely caught any fish.
