Difficult to watch: Raw video of aftermath of Friday's terror attack - UPDATE 7:35 PM

For those who - like me - may have missed this when it was posted during Shabbat in Israel, here is a raw video of the aftermath of Friday's terror attack. It's pretty brutal, and if you're under 16, I suggest you ask your parents to watch it first.

Let's go to the videotape.

I linked rather than embedding because I could not get it not to play automatically if it was embedded.

I am hearing rumors that Mrs. Marc is a US citizen and the daughter of someone I knew when I was in yeshiva here in the late '70's and early '80's. If the rumors are true, I spent Shabbat in her parents' home several times....

In the meantime, President Obama has still said nothing about the murder of 13-year old Hallel Yaffa Ariel HY"D - also an American citizen - in her bed on Thursday morning.

UPDATE 7:35 PM

I have now confirmed that Mrs. Marc is the daughter of people with whom I spent Shabbat many times when I was in yeshiva....

Elie Wiesel z"l (of blessed memory) and Mickey Mark HY"D (May God Avenge his blood): United in life and in death

On Friday afternoon Michael 'Mickey' Marc HY"D was murdered while driving his car near his home in Otniel. He is being buried today.

On Saturday night, Elie Wiesel z"l passed away.

If Marc and Wiesel meet on their way up to Heaven, perhaps they will recognize each other, for they have met before.
An eerie photo has surfaced of Elie Wiesel hanging a mezuzah in Otniel. Next to him in the photo stands Michael Mark (gesturing with his hand).
Michael was murdered on Friday, when a terrorist sprayed more than 20 bullets at his car. Killed instantly, his car flipped, with his wife and children inside. His wife is still on life support, although his son Pedaya is set to be released today, while another daughter is awake in the hospital.
In a strange parallel, Elie Weisel passed away on Saturday, at the age of 87. Weisel,  a Holocaust survivor known for personifying "Never Again," fought to represent the Jewish nation reborn, stronger than ever.
In the picture, they were together at the dedication of a new Beit Midrash (Torah study hall) in the town of Otniel, where Marc lived and close to where he was murdered on Friday.
Then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is standing behind Wiesel in the picture above. Marc is the man with the jacket and the white shirt without a tie. Here is a picture of the actual mezuzah hanging.

If I'm not mistaken, the man with the large white kipa and the longish white hair in the back (better seen in the top photo with his hands on Wiesel's shoulders) is Yitzchak (Ira) Rennert, a well-known American Jewish philanthropist. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me and I will delete this.

Our latest terror victims bring back memories of 2002 terror attack on yeshiva

The latest victims of terror are Michael Mark HY"D (May God Avenge his blood), the director of the yeshiva in Otniel, his wife, who is seriously wounded, and two of his daughters who were less seriously wounded.
The man killed in the attack has been identified as Michael "Miki" Mark, a father of 10 from Otniel. His wife, Chava, was critically wounded. Two of their children, Pedaya, 15, and Tehilla, 14, sustained moderate and light wounds, respectively. Michael Marc headed an Otniel yeshiva where four students were murdered in a terror attach in 2002.

According to the army, the family's car was driving along the south Mount Hebron's Route 60 when they were overtaken by another vehicle and came under a hail of bullets, fired from what the army believe was a Kalashnikov rifle. The gunfire caused the car to veer and flip over. Army forces who searched the car said they found over 20 bullet casings inside.

Witnesses reported seeing an overturned car on the side of a road near the settlement of Otneil and an IDF outpost, some 15km south of Kiryat Arba. Rescue services alerted to the scene found the four causalities inside.
For those who have forgotten, that terror attack in the yeshiva in Otniel took place on a Friday night in 2002, and many lives were saved by a kitchen staff that prevented the terrorists from gaining access to the yeshiva dining room.
Around 7:30 P.M. Friday, two terrorists from the nearby village of Dura in the Hebron area infiltrated Otniel from the settlement's west side. For the most part, Otniel is not surrounded by a fence; there is a relatively porous fence on the settlement's southwest side, near the yeshiva. The terrorists chose to infiltrate the fenced-off area. They cut into the fence (even though it ends just a few dozen meters from the site of entry), and entered the settlement. The two men wore army uniforms, carried M-16 rifles and were loaded with ammunition.

The yeshiva, located just a short distance from the fence, is a large, well-lit building, and the terrorists chose it as their target. At the time, dozens of yeshiva students were gathered in the ground-floor dining hall, waiting for the Friday night Shabbat meal. The two terrorists began to spray the building with bullets from the outside; one managed to get inside, via a service entrance, and entered a kitchen area next to the dining hall.

Four unarmed yeshiva students were working in the kitchen at the time. Shooting at short range, the terrorists murdered Noam After from Shilo, Gavriel Hoter from Alonei Habashan, Tvi Zeiman from Reut and Yehuda Bamberger from Karnei Shomron.

The terrorist then tried to enter the dining hall, but found that the door was latched shut. Israeli security officials subsequently said that the locked door prevented an even more devastating attack, but they were unable to clarify who had locked the door. One version has After locking the door before he was killed, to protect his yeshiva colleagues; his corpse was found close to the door. Alternatively, the men in the dining hall might have locked the door from their side. The terrorist, in any case, fired through the door, wounding five people in the dining hall, one seriously and the others lightly. The wounded were taken to Beer Sheva's Soroka Medical Center and to Hadassah-Ein Kerem in Jerusalem.
Shabbat Shalom, and a quiet, peaceful Shabbat to one and all.

And again: 'Palestinian' terrorist murders Israeli father/husband, wounds mother/wife and two children

There's been another 'Palestinian' terror attack, this time near Otniel in the Hebron Hills.

This picture is hard to watch:

In case you didn't figure it out, it's a series of pictures of medics evacuating the terror attack victims. The attack took place within the last hour and a half.
A manhunt is underway for a Palestinian suspect in Hebron and the army has set up checkpoints in the area. The suspected gunman comes from the village of Bani Na'im - the same village as the terrorist who killed a 13-year-old girl early Thursday, according to the military.

Rescue services alerted to the scene found the four causalities inside: One dead and three others wounded.

The victims were all taken to Jerusalem hospitals, with a woman in her 40s said to be in critical condition and on life support. The two others suffered light-to-moderate wounds.
Another Jewish family has had its life torn apart. May God Have mercy on them.

Terrorism returns

It's been a couple of days. Having trouble writing anything....

Yesterday, a mother of six children was murdered in her own home by a 'Palestinian' terrorist. Yes, the picture on the right is her kitchen floor and that's not paint....
The woman has since been identified as 39-year-old Dafna Meir, a mother to six children, two of them foster children. She waas initially critically wounded in the attack and succumbed to her wounds shortly after.
The Arab terrorist who carried out the attack succeeded in breaking into the town, entering the woman's home and murdering her before fleeing the scene.
The woman, who works as a nurse, fought with the terrorist at the entrance to her home as her children were nearby, according to testimony. The children did not see the attack but heard her shouts and came running, and then called up security forces to hunt the murderer.
Security forces are currently pursuing the terrorist, aided by a helicopter, and residents of the town were asked to stay in their homes during the manhunt. The IDF has clarified that the terrorist is no longer in the town.
Witnesses of the attack have said the terrorist worked in the town and used his familiarity with the community to carry out the attack.
Some people have made the connection between Israel's Left and the encouragement of 'Palestinian' terrorism.
Former Interior Minister Eli Yishai, chair of the Yachad party which narrowly failed to enter the Knesset, responded to the murder by blaming the radical leftist groups B'Tselem and Breaking the Silence.
"I am shocked by the murderous attack in Otniel. The cruelty of the  murderers knows no bounds," said Yishai. "Again we come across the face of uninhibited evil. An awful murder of a Jewish woman hy''d in her private home, with her only 'sin' being that she was an Israeli Jew."
"The struggle against incitement needs to be escalated. The Palestinian incitement at the side of the Israeli (incitement) managed by leftist organizations B'Tselem and Breaking the Silence is responsible for another despicable murder. God will avenge her blood."
For the Hebrew proficient, here's an Israel Radio interview interview with one of Daphna Meir's nursing colleagues (she was a neurosurgical nurse who also gave pre-nuptial classes to women after being in a boarding school herself by 5th grade) who traveled with her often from Otniel to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

Sunday's murder came moments after another terrorist was stopped at the gates of Kiryat Arba.

And today, a pregnant woman, the daughter-in-law of prominent coexistence advocate Rabbi Menachem Froman z"l, and an activist in the Leftist political party Yesh Atid (led by Yair Lapid), was stabbed by a 'Palestinian' terrorist.
In this case, the victim had approached the terrorist thinking he was lost, and offered him directions.
Please pray for Michal Bat Esther.

And the media? Couldn't care less outside of Israel. They're only Jews. The New York Slimes reported this morning "Palestinian Wounds Israeli Woman in West Bank, Military Says.' Grrr....
