It must be tough to be paranoid. Hezbullah is now convinced that Israel is tapping its cellphones. "The enemy has succeeded in planting secret lines ... in the mobile phones of some members of the Resistance," Hizbullah MP Hasan Fadlallah said at a press conference with Telecommunications Minister Charbel Nahhas.Hezbullah had better watch its shadows. Heh.
"After a lengthy, complex investigation ... it was revealed that three resistance members were using local mobile phones which had been deliberately sold to them after being implanted with secret Israeli lines" by a Lebanese spying for Israel, he said.
Fadlallah, chairman of parliament's media and telecommunications committee, said Hizbullah had cracked the case in coordination with military intelligence after police zeroed in on the three Hizbullah members as possible Israeli agents.
It turned that the three suspected agents were in fact the victims of the Israeli bugging, Fadlallah said.
A ministry expert at the news conference confirmed that the infiltration meant Israel could send out text messages and other information from the phones.
They could also track the movements of the phones and listen in on any conversations wherever they were, he said.

The Lebanese news site Naharnet reports that according to a French official, Israel is ready to go to war with Lebanon. As-Safir newspaper on Wednesday quoted a French official, who has returned from a tour of the region that included north of Palestine, as saying that "Israel is ready for war against Lebanon."When the enemy starts making up all kinds of things you're doing to prepare to confront them, that's deterrence! (Okay, maybe we have done all this stuff, but I haven't seen it, and given what Hezbullah allegedly has, it's not just the northern border that needs to be ready).
The official said the Israelis told him that they have completed in recent months their military and civil preparations and that the infrastructure and shelters in the north of Palestine, especially the settlements adjacent to the border with Lebanon, were now ready to confront the prospect of war at any moment.
He said the Israelis have completed a series of exercises aimed at testing the ability of staff and new army units in the Northern Corps, which has been rebuilt, on the implementation of plans prepared against Hizbullah as soon as possible.
The French source said the maneuvers, latest of which was carried out in February, was based on confronting a series of networks of advanced missiles and the intensity of firepower that could threaten Israel's security, in addition to long-range missiles and air defense systems.

The IDF liquidated a major al-Qaeda terrorist in Gaza on Wednesday. During a joint IDF-ISA operation today, November 3rd 2010, a senior leader belonging to the terror organization “Army of Islam” was targeted. During the targeted operation, the senior leader, Shati-resident Muhammad Namnam (born 1985), was killed.Sounds like 'good riddance' to me.
Muhammad Namnam was personally involved in directing several terror attacks against Israeli targets in recent years. More recently, Namnam was involved with directing a terror attack against American and Israeli targets in the Sinai Peninsula, in cooperation with Hamas elements in the Gaza Strip.
The “Army of Islam” is a Salifist terror organization that identifies with the cause of “Global Jihad” and the terror organization Al Qaeda. As part of its activities in the Gaza Strip, the “Army of Islam” terror organization has carried out several severe attacks against Israeli targets.
