Colonel Richard Justin Kemp CBE (born 14 April 1959) is a retired British Army officer who served from 1977 to 2006. He was Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, and experienced the complexity of fighting militants embedded within a civilian population.Kemp was interviewed by Israeli Channel 1 regarding his position on the legality and morality of Israel's actions in operation Protective Edge.
