A bitter old man: Indyk to resign after being pegged as source for story blaming Israel for talks' collapse
Martin Indyk is going to resign from the leadership of the Obama-Kerry State Department's 'negotiating team' for the 'peace process' after being exposed as the source for Nachum Barnea's YNet story blaming Israel for the failure of the 'peace talks.'
The Israeli daily Haaretz reported that Indyk is considering resigning in light of President Barack Obama’s intention to suspend US involvement in seeking a negotiated end to the conflict, citing unnamed Israeli officials “who are close to the matter.” Indyk has informed the Brookings Institute that he will soon return to his vice president post, from which he took a leave of absence during the negotiations, Haaretz reported.
It also said Indyk is being identified in Jerusalem as the anonymous source in a report by Yedioth Aharonoth columnist Nahum Barnea on Friday in which unnamed American officials primarily blamed Israel for the failure of the peace talks.
He's a bitter old man, isn't he?“There are a lot of reasons for the peace effort’s failure, but people in Israel shouldn’t ignore the bitter truth – the primary sabotage came from the settlements,” the official told Barnea.

Very bitter.
People like him would be sooo revealed by a parcel title search GIS database. Because normal Americans won't put up with property owners having their land confiscated...
The question is - to what extent do Obama and Kerry share the views he expressed in that interview? Chutzpa of Barnea to quote him as representing the "official American position". I'll bet he's been a bitter old man for a long time - 37 years of bitterness, I'd say...
Obama and Kerry have no reason to share this personal bitterness of his and probably would not have authorized such comments had they been asked.
I don't see him as a bitter old man, but rather as an obsequious suck-up who understands perfectly what his bosses want him to say and is happy to oblige.
Bitter??? He's so full of Marror. He was probably nursed on it as a baby, and he hasn't given it up yet!!
