The attack occurred on a bus that was traveling from Nazareth to Afula as it was entering the Afula central bus station.
Passengers on the bus were able to subdue the attacker and deliver him into the custody of security personnel at the bus station.
Police stated that the suspect is a 16-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank city of Jenin that had been illegally residing in Israel. He was being interrogated by security authorities.
According to police, the suspect confessed to police under questioning, saying that he carried out the attack to avenge several of his relatives who are serving time in Israeli prisons.

Jews seem to have short memories - its not barely a couple of weeks since the country subverted justice again and released the killers of Jews from its prisons.
In this world, mortal sin has its consequences and Jews die when the nation sins again G-d. The tragedy is this was completely preventable.
The lesson in this regard has yet to be fully learned and more Jews will die in the future for sure.
