Tsarnaev part of 12-member Islamic terror cell

I've been warning about Islamic terror 'sleeper cells' in the United States on this blog for six or seven years now. There's evidence that the brothers Tsarnaev, who left two powerful bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line last Monday, were part of such a cell.

On Friday night, three alleged accomplices of the Tsarnaev brothers were arrested in New Bedford, Mass.
The two men arrested last night in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings drive a car with the licence plate that reads: ‘Terrorista #1’

The students, named be neighbours by their first names Azmat and Diaz, drive a black BMW 330XI with the personalised plate and a sticker on the back which reads: ‘F*** you, you f****** f****’.

They are thought to be from Kazakhstan and had not been seen since the bombings until last night when their ground floor apartment in New Bedford, MA, was raided by a dozen FBI agents at gunpoint.

One of their girlfriends was also arrested. All three are in their late teens or early 20s.

Their apartment was raised because police say the younger Boston Marathon bombing suspect, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, may have lived at their address.
But those three are apparently not the only accomplices. London's Sunday Mirror is reporting that the FBI is hunting 12 members of a 'sleeper cell' that is linked to the Tsarnev brothers (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
Police believe Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were specially trained to carry out the devastating attack.
More than 1,000 FBI agents were last night working to track down the cell and arrested a man and two women 60 miles from Boston in the hours before Dzhokhar’s dramatic capture after a bloody shootout on Friday.
A source close to the investigation said: “We have no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google.
“They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.”
A specialist team of CIA and FBI interrogators was yesterday flown to a Boston hospital to grill wounded Dzhokhar, 19, about the secret group. The University of Massachusetts student was caught on Friday after hiding out in a boat parked in a garden in locked down Watertown the day after a gun battle with police left his 26-year-old brother and a rookie cop dead.
Dzhokhar is said to have run his brother over as he escaped in a stolen car while Tamerlan lay handcuffed on the ground. They were carrying six bombs with them at the time, three of which exploded, as well as a handgun and rifle. The devices were thought to be pipe bombs.
In case you were wondering, the unnamed foreign government that asked the FBI to check out Tamerlan Tsarnev was in fact the Russian government. But here's where it gets really interesting. This is from an interview with the mother, who lives in Russia:
She claimed the FBI had been keeping watch on her eldest boy for up to five years. She said: “They knew what my son was doing. They knew what sites on the internet he was going to.
“They were telling me that he was really an extremist leader and that they were afraid of him. They told me whatever information he is getting, he gets from these extremist sites. They were controlling him.”
If that's true, why didn't they stop him before he committed this attack? Well, here's what the government has to say about  that:
US Government officials have said the brothers were not under surveillance as possible militants. And an FBI statement said the matter was closed because interviews with Tamerlan and family members “did not find any terrorism activity, domestic or foreign”. But now they believe the pair, who emigrated to the United States from Dagestan about a decade ago, were part of a terror cell.
Well, then obviously they missed something, didn't they?

Oh, and it turns out that the younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, may have killed the older brother, Tamerlan. Here's a report of some little known facts about how Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured.

Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Weekly Standard).

There's a second part to the video.

Let's go to the videotape.
