Teacher asks students to explain 'why Jews are evil'

An Albany, New York teacher gave her high school students an assignment to explain why Jews are evil.

Let's go to the videotape.

Here's a second report. Let's go to the videotape.

More here.

I wonder why no one has assignments that are based on the premise that Muslim jihadis are evil....

The INN report on this story says the following:

"School superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard added, however, that she does not believe any malicious intent was involved on the part of the teacher who assigned the project."

I commented elsewhere:

This may be true. It may have been a lesson in how would you fair if you were there? In addition, you might be able to detect the makings of a neo Nazi among the students and have the rest of the class battle it out.

We had a tactically similar exercise done on us by our 5th grade history teacher. One day she unilaterally announced that she’s imposing a 5 cent tax on all hand-in homework assignments. We were furious and we expressed our objections and made our threats as well as 5th graders [back then] could. It turned out that the day’s lesson was about “taxation without representation.” The lesson was well learned.

A column on "Jews are evil" is actually Huffington Post editorial policy
