They support yeshivas, don't they? Haredim to lose all housing benefits
Here's the tweet from Amir Mizroch.
Finance Ministry proposes eliminating all housing benefits for haredim, shifting priority to veteran soldiers, young couples who both workShifting priorities is one thing - eliminating all benefits is something else.
Here are all the details I have on this (along with some more economic plans that no one is going to like).
At the same time, the Finance Ministry proposes eliminating all housing benefits for haredim (ultra-Orthodox), shifting priority for affordable housing to veteran soldiers and young couples with both spouses working. The plan also includes the construction of 55,000 apartments over the next two years; 15% of the new apartments will be designated as affordable housing, and the construction of student housing in ten city centers will be moved forward as well. The construction plans also include apartments for rent, as well as purchase.
Can't wait to see how else Naftali Bennett and his newfound friend Yair Lapid are going to support yeshivas....
Oh and if you want to be a stay-at-home mother no housing benefits for you either....

If this goes through, the yeshivas should designate all students and their wives as employees and they should have a goal of 16-17 as the marriage age with at least one child as the goal before the parents are 18.
National Religious Camp yeshivas are going to be in the same boat as the Hareidi yeshivas in all this.
Bennett should break off with Lapid and invite the Hareidi parties into the coalition along with profound apologies.
Eliana,
Won't work. Men aren't legally allowed to work without having completed the army or been exempted. That's one of the many reasons that so many people here work 'off the books' (and not just Haredim).
As to the national religious yeshivas, with very few exceptions, they do send the boys to the army at some point, albeit not at the age of 18.
Yair Lapid is clearly trying to dissolve the existence of the Haredi yeshivas and the Haredi culture.
Is there no way to stop these attempts?
Can the National Religious rabbis intervene with Naftali Bennett on behalf of the Haredim?
Eliana:
The National Religious rabbanim and the CHARDAL rabbanim, for the most part, have no interest in intervening on behalf of the Haredim.
I suggest you read this article from HaRav Druckman from the NRP camp:

The days of Haredi blackmail in Eretz Yisrael is coming to end.
