Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

It's way too warm now (mid-40's but quite windy), but we may have snow in Jerusalem before the week is out.
The Jerusalem municipality ramped up preparation for a winter storm expected to slam the capital over the coming week, with winds of more than 80 kph and the possibility of snow.

The city recommended that residents check their heating systems to ensure they are working properly and make sure there are no leaks in their roofs or windows.

The capital could experience snow on Wednesday afternoon if the storm retains its strength over the coming days.

Jerusalem has only experienced snow once in the past three years.
There's been a lot of rain already this year (including today and yesterday), and there are already comparisons being made to 1992, the first winter we were in Israel. There were three snowstorms during the month of January 1992, two of which were major events (I stayed overnight in Tel Aviv for one of them because I had to be at work at a client's office in Herzliya the next morning). During the first storm, we shlepped all the kids (there were only four then) and our video camera out to play. The kids were unhappy - they couldn't understand why we were making such a big deal out of it.

But let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... so long as Mrs. Carl doesn't insist on going to a client meeting in the center of the country the next day....

And let it snow in Foxboro next Sunday too.

I would love to see how you drive in the snow!

Barbara2,

I grew up in Boston, so in fact, I know how to drive in snow quite well (and did so last year - look at the posts at the end of December 2011).
