'South Africa remans an apartheid state'
Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon slammed South Africa for mandating special labeling on products emanating from Judea and Samaria, saying that South Africa remains an apartheid state. "The changes that took place in South Africa over the years did not yield a truly fundamental change," Ayalon said. "South Africa remains an apartheid state."I smell a turkey....
Ayalon also took a stab at South African authorities for killing 34 striking platinum miners in the bloodiest operation since the end of white rule. "At the moment South Africa's apartheid is aimed at Israel, and against miners within South Africa itself," Ayalon said. "Instead of deciding to label Israeli products, South Africa should have acted courageously towards the 34 innocent miners that were just asking for an improvement in working conditions."
The Foreign Ministry also released a statement Wednesday, saying South Africa's decision “brings to mind ideas of a racist nature which the government of South Africa, more than any other, should have wholly rejected.”

The Foreign Ministry statement said the measure adopted was unprecedented and constituted “blatant discrimination based on national and political distinction. This kind of discrimination has not been imposed – and rightly so – in any other case of national, territorial or ethnic conflict. Israel and South Africa have political differences, and that is legitimate. What is totally unacceptable is the use of tools which, by essence, discriminate and single out, fostering a general boycott.” The Foreign Ministry will summon the South African ambassador Thursday to register its displeasure.

Lol. Some people r good with words. Anyone against the apartheid state ϑƒ Israel ι̥s̲ evil.
Ayalon should do his homework. There are far better examples of South African Apartheid. They have "advanced" and permanent racial affirmative action programs that they justify because of South Africa's special circumstances.
(This is the perfect foil for those accusing Israel of Apartheid and being a Jewish only state. Special circumstances relating to Jews and the history of Israel.)
Very silly comment by Ayalon indeed! The SA govt is an utter disgrace towards Israel and the Jews why don't we just leave it at that?? To go further and try and force the current headlines of the mine tragedy into this displays complete ignorance of the realities in SA. What happened at the mine is not apartheid, and for a Dep. Minister to say it is says something very worrying of the understanding and knowledge of the Israeli MFA with regards to South Africa.
