Actually, Romney intended to arrive in Israel on Tisha b'Av

It turns out that Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney intended to arrive in Israel on Tisha b'Av because he is going to break the fast with none other than Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Alana Goodman explains.
At the Weekly Standard, Bill Kristol confirms new details of Mitt Romney’s upcoming visit to Israel:
During discussions about the trip over the last month, advisers to Romney and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the appropriateness of a Romney visit to Israel on this date [Tisha B'Av]. But Netanyahu, the Weekly Standard has confirmed from top aides in Jerusalem and Boston, encouraged Romney to be in Jerusalem on this solemn day, one that recalls the tragedies of Jewish history and calls to mind current threats to the Jewish people.

Indeed, the Weekly Standard can report that Prime Minister and Mrs. Netanyahu have invited the Romneys to join them for the traditional meal breaking the fast following sundown after Tisha B’Av. This gesture suggests that what may have started out as a routine candidate touchdown in Israel has become a more serious and significant moment for both Netanyahu and Romney.
Some media reports criticized Mitt Romney for scheduling a Jerusalem fundraising event shortly after the conclusion of Tisha B’Av, the day of Jewish mourning for the destruction of the First and Second Temples. But it sounds like the event will now be postponed due to Romney’s dinner with Netanyahu.
The latest I've seen has the fundraiser starting at 9:30, which would leave a bit more than an hour for a private dinner for the Netanyahu's and the Romney's. That sounds doable.

I'd like them to discuss Green $lush and what they are going to do to fix this 2-sided disaster.

Just a comment from a common man to the common people of Israel:

Mitt Romney is a snake and of the Devil and so is the Lds church, strong words but sadly true, even if he appears to be a friend to Israel and the Jewish peoples, please beware of the Lds Agenda, he has sworn an oath in their temple to serve his church and belief above all political motives putting the Lds church first, who believe they are the only true church of God on earth and who hold the keys and authority to restore Gods kingdom, I ask you!!! Vanity of vanity's! and they believe they will restore the Jewish Temple for the coming of the Messiah but in fact and perhaps in Gods hand will be instrumental in helping to restore The Temple in preparation of the coming of a false Messiah who will bring in the desolation of abomination according to the beloved prophet Daniel and as referred to in the Christian New testament by Mark in chapter 13 talking to the restored Jews in the last days, please study the Lds beliefs yourself and I will add that any genuine bible believing Christian is non denominational, non political and pro Israel and instructed to love not only the Jewish people but all men without partiality being separate from the World and politics and any so called "Christian" who is in bed with the world and it's orders within it claiming to be friends with Israel should be guarded against and any who persecute and has persecuted the Jews under the banner of Christianity is a false Christian indeed and Israel should be wary of these, especially Mormon and Catholic body's.As a believer in Yeshua The Messiah(Jesus Christ), I believe I am grafted into the true vine by God alone and by His merit only, I am just a dog, beaten whipped and saved which has been blessed by the hand God(please don't kick me) and that is only because of the Jews and Gods precious Word through them and Israel will forever be the root and all Jews/Israel are beloved for the Fathers sake always being the apple of His eye and will be grafted back into the vine to reign with God in Jerusalem when the true Messiah returns to deliver them from the imposter who desecrates the Holy place as it is written in his Word, the faithful witness.
My prayer is the Jewish people, religious/non religious will trust only in God and be lead in all truth by the Holy Spirit of God, trusting only in the God of Abraham, Issac's and Jacob, studying out Gods Word to be approved in His Word for themselves and not by trusting in the flesh and machinations and political designs of men, being discerning of subtle divisions and the stirrings of wicked men which filter through from behind the curtain of worldly seats and orders, that they all may know God and the true Messiah themselves alone(Joshua 1:9/Jeremiah chpt 17)It is my humble opinion that any so called Christian body should not be involved in the politics of Israel but such is the way the world is in Gods infinite wisdom and no doubt will be used to fulfill His purpose.
For any person interested in researching the Mormon faith from material and evidence from their own archives I recommend you visit Utah lighthouse ministry which can be found at www.utlm.org which reveals them in the light of Gods Holy Word. May the Lord God Almighty be magnified and His will only be done and those truly seeking His mind and will be blessed, comforted and filled.

Dear Mr/Ms Plum,

We Jews don't have too many friends. So when an LDS Church member wants to be my friend, I'm not going to turn him away solely based on LDS Church doctrine.

I've known several LDS Church members and every one has been very pro-Israel. I believe Gov. Romney's attitude toward Israel is genuine. The fact that many people disagree with the tenets of LDS notwithstanding, I no more think that makes their affinity for Israel false than I think the professed affinity of evangelical Christians toward Israel false.

To this Jew, an affinity for Israel is an affinity for Israel. As NY mayor Ed Koch has said when asked about Christianity, "When the Messiah shows up in Jerusalem, we can welcome him with open arms and then inquire, 'Is this your first visit to Jerusalem, sir, or have you been here before?'" Until that happens, I'm not going worry about who any particular religion thinks is the true Messiah. I'm going to focus on who's acts are the acts of friends.

We live in a region chock-full of LDS people and they are just fine. Stuart summarizes it well. I'd add that America means freedom. And I don't mind what religion anyone is as long as they don't try to make me be that also, and don't take action to make their apocalyptic prophesies come true. That's not our job. Our job is to make life on earth better wherever we can. The rest is not in our job description.

LDS members are pro-Israel, but more importantly, Mormon gals dig Jewish guys!
