Even the Israeli socialists never said anything like this

For better or for worse, despite the inroads that capitalism has made in the last 35 years, Israel is still a socialist country. Israelis don't cringe at the word 'socialism' - or even 'communism' unlike their American counterparts. Many - maybe even most - believe that the State is responsible for the welfare of its citizens (Hat Tip: Yaacov Lozowick via Twitter). But in Israel, no one would argue that if you own a successful business, it's due to the collective's efforts and not due to your own efforts. They would simply tell you that you have a responsibility to make sure that your fellow citizen's standard of living meets a minimum, regardless of how much effort they put into that standard of living.

But President Hussein Obama goes much further than Israeli socialists. He argues that there is no such thing as individual effort. You may be working 20 hours per day, but the State is still responsible for the success of your venture, and it deserves to be rewarded.
[i]f you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own...If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.
Four more years?

I read another article about this, he is clearly talking about HIMSELF: he would be nowhere if it was not for a huge loan his grandmother took out for him, from her bank, he went to the most expensive schools and was always given a pass because he was half black. He has been funded by Arabs because he is a mozlem and by gangsters - Rezko - because he is a member of the Chicago mafia. He has been propped up all the way like an English public school boy who has no conception of the real world!!

Positive news from the hinterlands... I checked my e-mail last night and there was an e-mail from my son with a link to the video of this. My son *never* e-mails me anything. So I went and said I got the video and wondered what he thought of it. "Interesting." And I said do you agree with him? And my son's blessed answer: "Hell no!!"
