Russia ordered its athletes to stay away from '72 Olympics memorial service for murdered Israelis

Here's an interview with Vasily Alexeev, a Russian weightlifter who competed in the 1972 Munich Olympics. In the interview, the narrator says that Alexeev and other Russian athletes were told not to attend the memorial service for the Israelis who were murdered at the Munich Olympics, but in the interview itself, he says that he was never told that there was a memorial service.

Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Munich Eleven via Twitter).

Alexeev passed away last November at the age of 69.

I wonder how many other teams told their athletes to stay away from the memorial service in 1972, and how many countries might be forced to confront their support for 'Palestinian' terrorism were there to be a moment of silence at the London games this summer. Hmmm.
