This is not a parody: Muslim joining ADL Board of Directors
If you weren't convinced until now that the ADL had lost its sense of direction, perhaps this will convince you: A Muslim is joining the ADL's Philadelphia regional board. "We have to address the continued bias against Jews, as well as new biases against new immigrants -- Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs," Ibrahim said, speaking of his decision to join the ADL. "It shows that in the U.S., we can collaborate and create new partnerships between peoples."This all sounds so nice and multi-culti... but is this really a justifiable use of Jewish community resources given that the number of hate crimes against Jews in the United States is totally disproportionate when compared to the number of hate crimes against other ethnic groups? Does ignoring Muslim hate against Jews by pretending that 'Islamophobia' is as common and virulent as anti-Semitism really make anti-Semitism go away?
Ibrahim's election to the ADL board comes six months after he spoke to that body about his first trip to Israel and his behind the scenes efforts to open channels between American Muslims and Israelis.
Marc Kaplin, ADL's regional chair, said Ibrahim's story "speaks for itself. He has reached out across religious and ethnic lines. We are pleased to have him."
Kaplin added, "Our vision is to try and get rid of hate and the way to do that is to have communications with people who are different from what you are."
What could go wrong?

people in general need a moral compass. reform Judaism seeing the abuses and problems of the way Jewish leadership had been decided the most current up to date German philosophy of the 19th century was the way to go. the sad thing is the moist up to date and popular German thinker was Hegel.(later they added Freud who based hi,self on Nietzsche weber) Reform Judaism could not have chosen a worse philosophy even if they had tried. however many traditional also noticed the problem with fanatical orthodox idiotic rabbis. so not being philosopher most Jews just tried to walk middle path without much rational behind it.

I think your comments are uninformed and counter productive. Dispite your knee jerk comment, no Jewish Community Assets are being expended by having Mr Ibrihim on our Board. To the contrary Mr ibrihim's company is a corporate sponsor of ADL. That contribution helps to fund the work of the ADL.
The ADL was founded in the wake of the lynching of a Jew in the south to "stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all people" We continue to follow that purpose by reaching out to all communities in our effort to end hate.
Your comments imply ( or state) that reaching out to Muslims, such a Mr Ibrihim, who want to live in a multicultural world some how hurts the Jewish people, or somehow harms Isreal. How short sighteded. All of us who care about Isreal (other than J Street, et al) agree that there will be no real peace with the Palestinians until they change their sworn purpose of pushing Israel into the sea. One way to help effect such a change in attitude is to engage and cooperate with people like Mr Ibrihim, who want to see a real peace for both Isreal and it's neighbors.
The ability to gain access to the internet and broadcast your views, as you do in your blog, carries with it the responsibility to be informed about your subject, and "first, do no harm" .
The ADL's first mistake was to buy into the Muslim Brotherhood's concocted meme of "Islamophobia" being an actual human rights phenomenon, as is the racial-religious-ethnic bigotry of world wide anti-Semitism.
While there has been actual cases of anti-Muslim activity reported (that's always in need careful defining on a case by case basis), much of what counts for "Islamophobia" by the Muslim Brotherhood front group CAIR, as well as the OIC, has been simple resistence to the imposing of sharia law in a public secular society.
The ADL is positioning itself into becoming yet another vehicle for fundamentalist Muslims to exploit in their promotion of themselves as a "mainstream" Islamic rights group, all the while using our civil liberties and notion of human rights and fair play against us.
I have recorded material of the head of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu emphatically denying to me, face to face, the existence of Islamic anti-Semitism, saying that "no Muslim, good or bad, can be anti-Semitic, it's a myth, this is not the case". The OIC is at teh forefront in driving the "Islamophobia" meme, to pressure and force ignorant governments to help sheild Islam from any criticism whatsoever.
Now, at a time when factual and thoughtful criticism is necessary than ever, ''Islamophobia'' is being used to derail it. Sadly the ADL is thrusting itself into the role of the traditional dhimmi Jew of old, and will be used to carry the water of the sharia supportive Muslim organizations just mentioned.

You don't realise (which you would if you read this blog regularly) that Carl is a racist, Islamophobe, probably hates Christianity more than Islam, but pretends otherwise, to pander to his base of Xtian Zionist cultists because they fund the settlements, and because the Israeli kahanists and their US collabarators, need this base of illiterate cultists for a greater Israel and to 'defeat Islam'
What Carl wants is for Jews to congegrate to Israel, and for the nations of the world to kill or expel their Muslims, because he believes his security is tied to the death of Islam.
If you are the head of an major organisation, you cannot afford to be so uninformed about your own extremists.
