Busted: Haniyeh admits Hamas won't retaliate for Israeli strike on Iran

Hamas President Ismail Haniyeh exposed some cards he was not supposed to expose on Thursday, admitting that Hamas has no intention of exposing itself to the IDF by retaliating for an Israeli strike on Iran.
"Hamas is a Palestinian movement that acts within the Palestinian arena and it carries out its political and field actions in a way that suits the interests of the Palestinian people," he said at his headquarters in the enclave.

"Iran did not ask anything from us and we think Iran is not in need of us," the prime minister of the Hamas government told Reuters in an interview.
Hey moron, maybe we'll let you have a truckload of fuel for that one.

Heh.

Of course, that's if you believe Hamas "President" Haniyeh. Maybe its Taqiyya, aimed at giving Hamas' contribution tactical surprise, in an Israel-Iran war.

Or maybe not. Haniyeh is well aware that such a war will involve primarily the IAF, leaving the Israeli Army with all its ground forces well able to move in and quickly flatten Gaza, with taking out the Hamas leadership maybe an important objective. That's if for example Hamas or other groups make it necessary, by shooting off huge volleys of rockets into Israel.

This man is not stoopid. This was a veil intended to be publicly dropped. And the relative calm between Israel and Hamas is not some wild cosmic fluke either. Relative calm. Relative signal.
