Most Israelis would not have dismissed Eisner
An interesting - if not surprising to those of us who understand how far Israel's media is to the left of its population - poll this morning regarding the handling of Lieutenant Colonel Shalom Eisner. Eisner, as you may recall, was caught on camera slugging a terror-supporting Swedish thug from the International Solidarity Movement with his rifle last Saturday. A Maagar Mochot poll indicates that a majority of Israelis both support Eisner and believe that he was railroaded by the media.Telephone poll of a representative sample of 606 adult Israelis (including Israeli Arabs) carried out by Maagar Mohot Survey Institute (headed by Professor Yitzchak Katz) the week of 20 April 2012 for Makor Rishon and published on 20 April 2012.Unless the IDF offers Eisner a reasonable position, I would look for Eisner to leave the army, go to a Right wing think tank for his cooling off period, and then enter politics with the Likud or with a party 'further to the Right.'
