And again: 'Palestinians' refuse to return to the damn table
So Abu Bluff is wearing a little bit of a Purim costume, but other than that, this is a serious post.I don't know why anyone bothers to ask anymore, but the 'Palestinians' have said yet again that they will not return to the table until Israel gives them a 'settlement freeze.' Of course, the last time Israel did that, they waited until a month before it was up and then returned to the table to try to get it extended, but don't let that color your thinking. This time, they mean it.
Jordan's Nasser Judeh explored the possibility of resuming talks in a meeting Wednesday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. In January, Jordan hosted low-level Israeli-Palestinian talks that broke down in acrimony. The 'Palestinians' never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Heh.
Staunchly pro-Washington, Jordan has considerable sway as one of the Palestinians' most important allies.
However, Abbas believes there is no point in negotiating with Israel, arguing that there is not enough common ground to close a deal.
Abbas aide Saeb Erekat said Judeh's visit "won't be followed by negotiations unless Israel stops settlement activities" in the West Bank.
