Outrage over Egypt
I am sure that many of you recall this video, which I showed on Saturday, of Egyptian troops beating a woman in Cairo and removing her abaya, leaving her partially exposed. Tom Gross reports that some 2,000,000 people have viewed that video since Saturday. He also reports the following: Ed Husain, the former Islamist radical who is now at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington (and is also a longtime subscriber to this email list), tweeted yesterday:Indeed. But then we already knew that the Arab Muslims are hypocrites, didn't we?
“If Israel did this to a hijab-wearing woman, we’d have uproar - yet Arab capitals silent. Shame.”
