Video: Egyptian troops beat protesters Saturday in Cairo
This ought to make Obama proud that he played a part in getting rid of that evil tyrant Mubarak.Let's go to the videotape.
Here's an explanation of what you just saw for those who, like me, are Arabic challenged. But first, a picture:
How's that for Islamic modesty.... A picture of a female Egyptian protester who was stripped from her black abaya and allegedly abused by army men has met with angry tweets criticizing the country’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) on Saturday.Just imagine what these people would do to Jews if God forbid they were ever given the chance.
The photos on social media shows a woman, clothed in just her denim pants, as army men hurl kicks only then to leave the lady unconscious lying on the street.
“SCAF’s soldiers: hooligans and sexual molesters. Picture shows them stripping, kicking young woman,” read one tweet.

Protesters wary of the Egyptian army handling the transition of power clashed with SCAF for the second day in Cairo. Activists accused the army for breaking up peaceful sit-ins by opening fire on them.
Health Minister Fouad el-Nawawy told Egyptian television 10 people were killed and 441 injured. Most those appeared to have died on Friday or in the early hours of Saturday. State media said at least 200 people were taken to hospital.
“Calling upon all Egyptians in London. Protest to condemn SCAF’s brutality against civilians tomorrow at the Egyptian Embassy,” one Twitter user said.
Another picture that was brought to Twitter users’ attention was of plumes of fire billowing out of the Egyptian Scientific Institute’s building. The institute which houses archives and historic documents dating back to more than two centuries was destroyed.
“Fire gutting the historic Egyptian Scientific Institute. 200,000 books dating back to 1798 are gone," said on concerned tweet.
Another Twitter user said: “Many of those books were saved. Protesters risked molotovs etc to grab and then handed them over to an apparently cool headed officer.”

Looks to me like they need MORE Islam. That'll fix it. All these problems are because the current islam is NOT pure. So we need MORE Islam!
Is this the "military" that the U.S. has helped Egypt build? Or is it a militia like the basij thug militia in Iran? OMG.

It's more than likely the picture is circulated by Mubarak supporters, probably from Israel, to discredit the revolution.
Good riddance to Mubarak. Evil has gone. The Muslim Brotherhood will hopefuly do what should be done. Amen.
Chayma: stop it. Just stop it. The image is legitimate and Egyptians are in fact taking to the streets because it is legitimate and the demonstrators accept it as such. The deeper irony, if you would put aside paranoia for more poignant truth telling is that it is the same military who backed Mubarak that has been the object of (reluctant) pro-Israel support as a bulwark against the Muslim Brotherhood. A deeper irony still is that there is a stand-off truce between these guys and Muslim Brotherhood as an organization. These guys serve the military counci, but the word has been that MB has not joined the mass demonstrations because it does not wish to endanger it's electoral gains.
Personally I don't care either way. Blame the US blame the Jews blame the dog that tells you to shoot people. Egypt will soon make Somalia look civilized and progressive all on their own.

i am an american and i am sorry that my government is causing so much problems around the world, doing the zionist bidding. our government is under control of sociopaths and the people here are under control of the media. I believe the real problem is the central bankers i wish they could feel the pain they have caused for the new world order.
