Meidan's next mission: Thaw relations with Turkey?

Fresh from negotiating Gilad Shalit's release from Hamas captivity, David Meidan is now being sent to try to negotiate an end to the freeze in Israel's relations with Turkey (Hat Tip: Joshua I).
Israeli negotiator David Meidan is expected to head to Ankara to seek a compromise on wording of an “apology” to the Turkish government that can thaw relations between the two nations, according to reports published Thursday in Hebrew-language Israeli media.

...

The report was made public Thursday on the Hebrew-language Heder HaHadashot website.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's office refused to confirm or deny the possiblity that Meidan was traveling to Turkey on such a mission, however. “I can't comment on that,” Netanyahu spokesman Mark Regev told Arutz Sheva.
No, I don't think it will happen. But good luck with that.

Well, the main issue with Turkey, it seems to me, is that they are a NATO country, the "responsibility to protect" is seemingly in play, and Turkey is picking a fight with Israel. Since the Obama posse's stated heart's desire is to use military force on Israel, anything Israel does to try to push out past the Nov '12 election makes sense. (Just so you know, the Obama posse also is arming to the teeth the aggressive and murderous drug gangs, who are operating against Mexican and U.S. civilians. So Israel isn't the only one needing to be on your toes.)
