Israel suspends UNESCO contribution, Ban says many will suffer from 'Palestinian' unilateralism

Israel Radio has just reported (3:00 pm) that Prime Minister Netanyahu announced today (Thursday) that Israel is suspending its contribution to UNESCO in light of the decision to admit the 'Palestinians.' Israel's contribution to UNESCO is about $2 million per year. Netanyahu said he would use the money instead for regional cooperation projects.

In light of the past week's events, I don't think anyone should really be surprised by this. But the next story is a bit surprising.

Israel Radio also reported that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said on Thursday that many people around the world will suffer due to 'Palestinian' attempts to become members of UN agencies. He was obviously referring to the 'Palestinian' effort to join UNESCO (and 16 other agencies according to a story in YNet on Wednesday), which has resulted in the US, Israel and Canada withholding their annual contributions. Ban made the statement along the sidelines of the G-20 conference, which is taking place in Cannes, France.

Here's the AP on that story:
The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, has said Palestinian efforts to join other United Nations agencies beyond its cultural arm are "not beneficial for Palestine and not beneficial for anybody".

Millions of people could be affected if UN agencies see their funding cut as a result of the Palestinian bids, he said in an interview on Thursday at the sidelines of the G20 summit in Cannes.

The US and Canada have cut off funding for Unesco since the Paris-based UN cultural agency approved a Palestinian membership bid – stripping it of about one-quarter of its total funding.

Ban said the Palestinian Authority's foreign minister had indicated that it would apply for membership of the 16 other UN agencies.
What do the 'Palestinians' care about starving children in Africa who don't get even a fraction of the per capita aid money that the 'Palestinians' get? Surely you don't think that the World's spoiled brats are going to care about anyone else, do you?

Most of the world's countries don't foot the bill for the UN, so they don't have to be responsible for the UN suffering funding cuts when they vote for Palestinian unilateralism. If the US had a veto over what UN agencies do, this juggernaut could have been stopped dead in its tracks.

Other countries will be the principal victims of Palestinian self-aggrandizement but no one cares because no one else is paying the bills at the UN. Its always someone else's problem.

What could go wrong indeed

This is all good news. I am glad that the 'Palestinians' have applied for membership across all UN agencies, as it will result in the USA/Israel/Canada (and maybe others) cutting funding to the agencies.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Peace is only possible when the 'Palestinians' can no longer suckle at the teat of the Western largesse. This is just step one in making that happen.

Next get born a Palestinian. They are the only people on the planet and the only people worthy of UN attention, support and money. Otherwise all those other filthy miserables can choke and die. No one cares.
