Tin Dome?
If Iron Dome was deployed on Monday night, id didn't help an Ashkelon woman who was hit by shrapnel (according to Israel Radio) from a Kassam rocket.A woman in her 50s was moderately wounded Monday night after a Kassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip exploded in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council.Iron Dome anyone?
The woman was hit by shrapnel in the lower part of her body and was transferred by an MDA crew to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
An alarm sounded off in the area before the rocket exploded.
Labels: Gaza, Iron Dome, Kassam rockets
3 Comments:
1. The woman who was hit was Bedouin. The Qassam struck at a Bedouin campsite.
2. Iron Dome does not target every rocket, only those whose trajectory it can analyze and determine will hit a city area. Since the Bedouin camp site was not "city area" Iron Dome was not used.
What Iron Dome does: If the rocket gets through and explodes, there will be shrapnel. And if the Iron Dome makes contact with the rocket, it will go off course (hopefully, but not surely, to a harmless spot) or it will break up, making shrapnel. That's why I've thought before that if I were you guys, I would put it around the runways and maybe things like power plants. And I'd put as many as you can fabricate nearer to the rocket launching sites and try to knock them back onto the rocket launchers... people around the rocket launchers will not put up with the shrapnel danger and damage for very long (unless the Hamas mouse has convinced the Gaza civilians that death and destruction of their own homes is the way to go).
What Iron Dome does not do: Vaporize the incoming rocket.
I would change the system's name to a pseudo-homonym: I am dumb.
Stupid, dumb Jews.
The simplest and almost immediate solution is manufacturing our own cheap katyushas (yes, they are very cheap, WWII tech based weapons) by the myriads, and lob 100s of them at a time into populated Gaza areas until the animals on the other side either get the message, are extinct or have moved to Egypt - whichever comes first.
