'Every Muslim has the right to kill Zionists'

There are a lot of people out there who believe that the problem isn't Islam, but something called 'Islamism.' Other people believe that there is a difference between 'moderate Muslims' and 'Islamists.' I don't deny the possibility that there are Muslims who don't want to murder all those who don't adhere to Islam. But if it's true, those 'moderates' are few, far between and largely silent.

One would think that a professor of Muslim jurisprudence at Cairo University would fall into the 'moderate' category. After the man (he would have to be a man, wouldn't he?) must be an academic, right? Well, here's a professor of Muslim jurisprudence who says that every Muslim has the right to kill Zionists Jews (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).

Islamic scholar Dr. Salah Sultan issued a religious decree according to which it is permissible to kill "any Israeli on Egyptian land, in response to the killing of Egyptian soldiers near the border with Israel," Egyptian Al-Shuruq newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Sultan is a lecturer of Muslim jurisprudence at the Cairo University. In the decree, he ruled that "every Muslim who meets a Zionist is entitled to kill him, after Israel killed 'Camp David'. The Egyptian people do not distinguish between Egyptian and Palestinian blood," he ruled.

Ah, such tolerance....
